Golmaal 5 Release Date: 8 January 2027 Expected

Plot details have not been revealed. The release teaser and poster put the gang together in a three-wheeler on a winding hill road, and Rohit Shetty has pitched the film as a family entertainer built on laughter and chaos, in line with earlier Golmaal films.

Release date

Rohit Shetty announced the date on 19 September 2026 with a new poster and teaser, writing "Laughter, fun, joy, happiness and family... bas, nothing else. 8th Jan 2027." The makers called it the film that will start 2027. We list the date as expected until certification and bookings are announced.

Twenty years of Golmaal

The series began with Golmaal: Fun Unlimited in 2006 and continued with Golmaal Returns (2008), Golmaal 3 (2010) and Golmaal Again (2017). It is among Bollywood's highest-grossing film series, and the 2022 film Cirkus was positioned as a spin-off connected to the orphanage backstory of the gang. After Golmaal Again, Shetty said repeatedly that a fifth film would happen once the right script was ready.

Production

Golmaal 5 was formally announced on Shetty's birthday, 14 March 2026, when filming began. In a note, Shetty thanked audiences for two decades of support and said his team was setting out to entertain them once again. The film is produced by Rohit Shetty Picturez in association with T-Series.

Cast

The release poster shows Ajay Devgn on a motorcycle with Arshad Warsi, Shreyas Talpade, Tusshar Kapoor, Sharman Joshi and Kunal Kemmu piled on behind him. Sharman Joshi returns as Laxman for the first time since the 2006 original, while Shreyas Talpade and Kunal Kemmu, who each played a Laxman in later instalments, are also back. Akshay Kumar joins the franchise; his role has not been disclosed.
