Mahavatar Parshuram (also written Mahavatar Parshuraam) is the second film in Hombale Films' animated Mahavatar Cinematic Universe, after Mahavatar Narsimha (2025). Ashwin Kumar directs again. The makers have announced a December 2027 theatrical release but have not named a day, so the 1 December 2027 shown here is only a placeholder for that month.

Mahavatar Parshuram Story
The film tells the story of Parshuram, the warrior-sage avatar of Vishnu, who wages war against corrupt kings who have abandoned dharma. The tagline reads: "Where Patience Ends, the Axe of Parshuram Begins!"
Release date status
Hombale Films announced the film on Parshuram Jayanti, 19 April 2026, with a motion poster that said "Coming December 2027". The Hindu, Mint and India Today all reported the same month. Because the month comes from the producers but the day does not, we mark the date as expected.
The Mahavatar universe
The franchise is planned as seven animated films based on the avatars of Vishnu. Mahavatar Narsimha became one of India's most successful animated films, with a reported ₹118.5 crore in Indian box office collections according to The Hollywood Reporter India. Ashwin Kumar has said the sequel keeps the 3D animation style but on a larger scale.
