Captain India Release Date: 13 August 2027 | Kartik Aaryan

The plot is under wraps. Reports say the story is inspired by true events and centres on a large rescue mission, with Kartik Aaryan playing the pilot at its heart.

Release date

The date was announced by the producers and shared by trade analyst Taran Adarsh in April 2026. Independence Day weekends have long suited patriotic Hindi films, and Captain India has taken that slot for 2027. We mark the date as confirmed.

A long road to the screen

Captain India was first announced in 2021 with Hansal Mehta as director. The project later changed hands, and Shimit Amin came on board. It is his first feature in about 17 years, after Rocket Singh: Salesman of the Year (2009). Harman Baweja is producing through Baweja Studios. Bollywood Hungama reported that the film would be shot in India and Morocco.
