Tumbbad 2 Story
The plot is under wraps. The announcement poster shows three statues with the tagline 'Pralay aayega' (the apocalypse will come), and the caption speaks of a sinful past and a legacy of greed that continues, so the sequel stays with the original's themes of greed and the cursed god Hastar.
Release date
Sohum Shah and Nawazuddin Siddiqui shared the poster with the caption "Mark your calendars #Tumbbad2 arrives on 3.12.2027". The Hindu, Times of India, Hindustan Times and NDTV reported the date. Since it comes from the makers, we mark it as confirmed.
Why the sequel matters
Tumbbad was a modest release in 2018 but built a large following, and its 2024 re-release did better than its first run. Shah has said the sequel aims to feel familiar in spirit while going deeper into the mythology and atmosphere.
