Cult Release Date: 30 October 2026 Confirmed

More than 300 people are trapped inside an isolated island estate in Goa, ringed by electric fencing, with the main gate rigged with RDX. Their only chance of survival is a series of deadly games. Among them is DSP Sankalp Nayak, a tough police officer with a strong dislike of drugs, played by Vishwak Sen.

Release date and status

The makers announced the 30 October date on 19 September 2026 with a promo showing Vishwak Sen holding a bloodied axe. The trailer came out on 19 October, and Vishwak Sen announced the shoot wrap a day later, saying "See you all in theatres on October 30th!" Some Telugu outlets have reported an 'A' certificate, but we have not seen an official certification announcement, so we list the date as expected until the makers or CBFC confirm it.

About the film

Cult is Vishwak Sen's third film as director, after Falaknuma Das and Das Ka Dhamki, and he also wrote the story and screenplay. The makers promote it as India's first authentic slasher thriller, inspired by disturbing real-life incidents, and describe it as R-rated. India Today reported that Vishwak Sen sees the film as a comeback after recent box-office setbacks. The early teaser hinted at a negative role, but the trailer presents him as a hard-hitting cop with a sense of humour.
