Dada: The Sourav Ganguly Story Story
The film follows the life of Sourav Ganguly, who rose from Kolkata to lead the Indian cricket team. The first poster recreates his best-known moment, waving his shirt from the Lord's balcony after India won the 2002 NatWest Series final.
Release date
T-Series announced 14 May 2027 with Rajkummar Rao's first look. The Hindu and other outlets carried the poster. Because the date comes from the producer, we mark it confirmed. T-Series notes that Lag Jaa Gale is also set for the same day.
Rajkummar Rao as Ganguly
The poster shows Rao on the Lord's balcony, shirt in hand. The project had been in the works for years, and Ganguly himself had confirmed Rao for the role before the first look was released. Rao has played real people before, in Shahid and Srikanth.
Vikramaditya Motwane directs
Motwane is known for Udaan, Lootera and the series Jubilee and Sacred Games. Dada is his first sports biopic.
