Why it stands out
Haindava is one of several Telugu films in recent years that combine temple mythology with a crime investigation. Here the conflict is placed inside the hero: he is a rationalist officer working in a village where faith in the deity runs deep. The priest's prediction that the idols will come back within a fixed time works as a ticking clock in the story. It also suggests that the film may leave open whether a supernatural force is involved. The makers are calling it a pan-Indian release, but as of 23 October 2026 they had not published a list of dubbed languages.
The lead's previous film
Cinema Express notes that Sai Sreenivas's previous film, Kishkindhapuri, was also a thriller and released in September 2025. Haindava continues his run in the genre, this time with a devotional and occult angle.
Trailer and OTT
As of 23 October 2026, no trailer date or streaming partner had been announced.
