Release date and status

Love & War is scheduled for a worldwide theatrical release on 21 January 2027, ahead of the Republic Day weekend. It releases in Hindi, Tamil and Telugu. Release history

• Christmas 2025: the original target
• 2026: the film moved into 2026, with a June 2026 window reported
• 21 January 2027: the current date

Ranbir Kapoor confirmed the postponement during an Instagram Live for his brand ARKS. Bollywood Hungama reported the shift was partly to avoid clashing with Dhurandhar 2 and Toxic.

Announcement and shoot

The makers announced the project on Instagram in January 2024: "We bring you Sanjay Leela Bhansali's epic saga Love & War. See you at the movies." Filming began on 7 November 2024 and ran across several schedules in Mumbai. Locations included Royal Palms in Goregaon, and the final leg began in August 2026. According to India Today and Filmfare, the unit wrapped on 4 September 2026 with an emotional farewell. The Times of India, citing Mid-day, later reported that Bhansali brought the three leads back for about a week of battle-sequence reshoots at Welcome Maidaan in Goregaon. A further song shoot was reportedly shelved. The set was run under strict no-phone security to prevent leaks.

Music

Bhansali, who also composed for Gangubai Kathiawadi and Heeramandi, composed at least the film's big song sequence, according to the Deccan Chronicle. Its set was reported to cost nearly Rs 2 crore. The full music credits had not been published as of 23 October 2026.
