Release date and status

Scene is scheduled to open in cinemas worldwide on 6 November 2026 for Deepavali. Suriya confirmed the date himself when the title teaser came out on 9 September 2026, writing "In cinemas from 6th Nov 2026. #Deepavali2026." As of 23 October 2026 there was no certification or advance-booking announcement yet, so we label the date expected. It shares the Diwali window with Mookuthi Amman 2.

From Suriya 47 to Scene

Jithu Madhavan, the Malayalam director of Romancham (2023) and Aavesham (2024), said in June 2025 that he was in talks with Suriya. Pre-production began in August 2025 once Suriya finished Karuppu. The film was launched with a puja in Chennai on 7 December 2025 under the working title Suriya 47, and shooting started that month. Filming took place mainly in Chennai and Kerala and wrapped in July 2026. The title was announced with a teaser on 9 September 2026.

Production

Suriya and Jyotika produce the film under their new banner, Zhagaram Studios, together with 2D Entertainment. This is Zhagaram's first production. Dravid Selvam wrote the Tamil dialogue and contributed additional writing.

Music

Sushin Shyam composes the music. Scene is his Tamil debut and his third film with Madhavan, after Romancham and Aavesham. The first single, "Aathi Iva Yarraa", came out on 8 October 2026. It was written and sung by Rajpriyan, a YouTuber who also acts in the film, and a Telugu version is titled "Ammo Idi Evarraa". The Times of India noted that the song centres on Nazriya's character rather than serving as a hero introduction.
