Suryaa Release Date: 20 November 2026 Expected

Sunny Deol reportedly plays a retired police officer who is pulled into an investigation that leads back to secrets from his own past. The makers describe a man caught in unanswered questions and buried truths, where an inquiry turns far more complex than he expected.

Release date

Sunny Deol announced the date himself on 12 October 2026 while sharing the first-look motion poster on Instagram: "Torn between Past and Present, He uncovers the TRUTH! Presenting SURYAA: Ant Se Aarambh Tak! IN CINEMAS 20th November 2026." The film is planned as a theatrical release. Because there was no certification or advance-booking news as of 23 October 2026, we list the date as expected rather than confirmed.

A remake of Joseph

The film is a Hindi adaptation of Joseph (2018), the Malayalam crime thriller written by Shahi Kabir. Padmakumar directed that original too, along with Malayalam films such as Kanal (2015) and Uyir (2026), so Suryaa marks him taking his own story to a Hindi audience with a new lead.

First look

The motion poster shows Deol with a beard, a weathered face and a cigarette, a deliberately rugged look that the makers have pitched as a side of the actor audiences have not seen before. The tagline, Ant Se Aarambh Tak (from the end to the beginning), points to a story that works backwards through a character's past.
