Force 3 Release Date: 19 March 2027, John Abraham

John Abraham reprises ACP Yashvardhan "Yash" Singh, the hard-edged officer from Force (2011) and Force 2 (2016). Harshvardhan Rane's character has been kept under wraps. The announcement line reads: "When the unstoppable meets the immovable, a storm is born."

Release date and status

John Abraham announced on X that Force 3 releases in cinemas on 19 March 2027: "The Force is coming! #Force3 releasing in cinemas on 19th March 2027". CNBC TV18 reported the announcement, and Bollywood Hungama lists the same date. As of 23 October 2026 the film was still in production, so we label the date expected.

Production and shoot

Production started with a traditional muhurat puja in March 2026. In April 2026 the makers released an announcement video showing first looks of Abraham and Rane, by which point the film was "deep into its first schedule". CNBC TV18 reported that the team filmed in Gujarat before the date was announced. The producers are Sheel Kumar, Shahbaz Alam, John Abraham, Sandeep Leyzell and Minnakshi Das, under John Abraham's JA Entertainment and Sheel Kumar's Karolina Corporation. Mukesh Chhabra is the casting director.

What the team said

Abraham said Force has "a certain grit and a strong identity that audiences have connected with over the years". He added that he was excited to introduce Rane as an action hero. Sheel Kumar said his relationship with Abraham and JA Entertainment "goes back many years". Rane described it as an honour to step into "an intense, hardcore action space".

The franchise

Force (2011), directed by Nishikant Kamat, was a remake of the Tamil film Kaakha Kaakha. It introduced Abraham as the narcotics officer Yash, with Genelia D'Souza and Vidyut Jamwal. Force 2 (2016), directed by Abhinay Deo, brought Yash back alongside Sonakshi Sinha and Tahir Raj Bhasin in a story about murdered RAW agents.

The team's previous work

Bhav Dhulia directed the Netflix series Khakee: The Bihar Chapter and the Hotstar series The Freelancer. Tanya Maniktala is known for playing Lata in Mira Nair's A Suitable Boy. Rane joins after back-to-back box-office successes, according to Bollywood Hungama.
