Om Chapter 1 Release Date: 20 November 2026 (Confirmed)

The story is set in a forest. A group of Tamil woodcutters are arrested at gunpoint by the police, and a man steps in to protect them. IMDb places the incident in the Tiruvannamalai forest region. The film is planned in two parts, and Udhiram – The Blood Wood is the first.

Release date and the change from October

The makers first announced 16 October 2026 when the title was revealed in June. In late September they moved the film, and on 2 October they confirmed 20 November with a new poster of Dhanush and Mammootty holding guns. Mammootty posted, "See you all in theatres on November 20." Reports say the move avoided a clash with Rajinikanth's Jailer 2. We mark the date as confirmed because it was announced by the makers.

From D55 to Om

The film was announced in November 2024 under Gopuram Films and later moved to Dhanush's own Wunderbar Films, with RTake Studios as co-producer. Shooting began in February 2026. The title teaser, released on 18 June 2026, showed Dhanush fighting policemen in a rain-soaked forest.
